Who may serve as a Salem Chamber Ambassador?
Chosen by the Ambassadors leadership committee, these individuals exhibit the highest degree of professionalism and embrace an attitude that is positive, supportive, and respectful to all people. Ambassadors purposefully engage individual members in a welcoming fashion and always seek to raise awareness to the vast organizational programming and events within the Salem Chamber.
Requirements to Apply:
Must be a member in good standing for a minimum of one-year with second year dues paid. Share and exhibit a passion for the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and its missional work to promote economic security across the Salem business community. Interested individuals must be nominated to become a Chamber Ambassador by an existing Salem Chamber Ambassador. Individual will be evaluated based on their existing engagement in regular Chamber activities and how they showcase their leadership skills and initiative.
Ambassador Committee Goals:
Goal #1:
• Improve retention of existing Chamber members – intentional efforts to mentor new members in their first year of membership and engage then in one or more of the Salem Chamber’s programming options.
Goal #2:
• Be an extension of the Chamber Staff at weekly Greeters networking events, Forum Luncheons, signature annual events, and any general Chamber programming. Our Ambassadors serve as a professional concierge and host to all members and future members at our various gatherings.
Goal #3:
• Being present and leading our ribbon-cutting events. Facilitate positive and constructive communication between the Chamber Staff and members to continuously improve member services.

Applications are kept on file for two fiscal year cycles (July - June). Applications are open year round. Applications received after March 31 annually will be in consideration for the following fiscal year. Application interviews and follow up takes place in April annually.
