Lacey Lady's Birthday BASH
Join us on July 25 for the Lacey Lady’s Birthday BASH, a spirited community celebration honoring the restoration of our iconic B-17G Lacey Lady and the women whose service, sacrifice, and determination helped reshape American history during World War II. Cruise-In for a trophy, bring the family to enjoy old-fashioned festival fun, and learn from interactive historical preservation. BBQ, Food, Coin Toss, Dunk Tank, and even a Muscle Man Contact! The event will spotlight the trailblazing women of WWII and the leaders who carry that legacy forward today. Alice Miller, a Seattle-based historian and curator of Beauty and Duty—an extensive collection of women’s military, service, and civilian uniforms spanning 1898 to the present—will share powerful stories of women who broke barriers on the home front and beyond. B-17 Alliance is bringing the once world-famous Gas Station Bomber back to her original flying glory. In doing so, we are honoring the legacy of World War II and the extraordinary innovation, courage, and social progress it inspired. From the engineering brilliance of the B-17 Flying Fortress to the “Rosie the Riveter” movement that opened new doors for women in the workforce, WWII helped shape the leaders who continue to serve in aviation, the military, and communities across America today. Nominations are now open for the B-17 Alliance ACE Awards (Award for Commitment to Excellence and Service), recognizing outstanding individuals whose dedication reflects the spirit of service, leadership, and excellence. Awards will honor: • A high-ranking military leader from the Pacific Northwest, • A community leader advancing youth education in aviation, and • A veteran volunteer whose dedication has been vital to the Lacey Lady’s restoration. Send your nominations to info@b17alliance.com Classic car clubs, military vehicles, works in progress, and other distinctive display vehicles are invited to join the show for a chance to win the Patriotic Reoccurring Trophy or a one-of-a-kind engraved Lacey Lady commemorative piece.
