"The Cannery Project at Historic Front Street"

Join us for our October Forum Speaker Series Luncheon as we welcome developer Trent Michels and commercial real estate broker Jordan Truitt (First Commercial Real Estate) to provide the business community with a comprehensive overview of The Cannery Project at Historic Front Street. 

Announced earlier this spring, plans to redevelop the currently vacant Truitt Brothers Cannery property include a riverside apartment complex that could house up to 900 residents, retail space, a food hall, brewery, wine tasting room, underground parking, and potentially a soccer stadium — utilizing 13 acres of historic land with some structures that have stood for more than a century.

Named "The Cannery" in honor of the site's history, the development is a joint stewardship effort between the City of Salem, Michels, and the Truitt family to revitalize this area of north downtown Salem into a vibrant urban hub. Michels has called the project "a love letter to Salem."
