Festival Chorale Oregon - Antonin Dvorak's Stabat Mater
Join Festival Chorale Oregon as we close out our 45th anniversary season by returning to the Elsinore Theatre to perform Antonín Dvorák's Stabat Mater. Considered Dvorák's best known sacred work, the piece is an extended musical setting of the 20 stanzas of the liturgical sequence that portrays the suffering of Mary as a mother during Jesus' crucifixion. This is a beautiful and moving masterpiece you won't want to miss. Soloists Jocelyn Thomas, Hannah Penn, Les Green, and Brett Peldyak will join the chorale and orchestra led by Founding Artistic Director Dr. Solveig Holmquist. Festival Chorale Oregon, voted “Best Live Music” in the Best of the Willamette Valley Awards, is a choir of talented amateur and professional singers from the mid-Willamette Valley, sharing our passion for musical artistry and choral masterworks with the community. FCO is proudly led by our founding artistic director, Dr. Solveig Holmquist, recognized by the American Choral Directors Association as one of 15 U.S. and Canadian “Women Choral Conductors You Should Know.”
