Business Advocacy: Legislative Session Begins, Chemeketa SBDC Update, Downtown Holiday Shopping Activity, and Employment Law Updates
Join us for our Business Advocacy Meeting on February 5, as a panel of local leaders and experts provides updates on several topics and issues affecting our local businesses.
At the meeting, the Salem Chamber's contracted lobbyist, Nicole Palmateer Hazelbaker, will talk about the opening days of the 2026 Legislative Session and the key bills that have emerged, including the ones that businesses should be aware of.
We'll also hear from Matt Geiger, Executive Director of the Chemeketa Small Business Development Center, who will share an update on the center's current activities and how business owners and employees can benefit from its services and educational opportunities.
Representing the Salem Main Street Association, TJ Sullivan will provide insights into downtown activity during the holiday season and discuss the status of public safety in the downtown area.
Saalfeld Griggs Attorney Garrett Urrutia will also join us to provide an important update on employment law for business owners and employees in the State of Oregon.
