Business Advocacy: Legislative Preview, Business Fire Inspections, State Street Improvement Update, and Initiative Petition to Repeal HB 3115
Join us for our Business Advocacy Meeting on January 8, as a panel of local leaders and experts provides updates on several key issues impacting our business community.
At the meeting, State Representative Tom Andersen will share his legislative priorities heading into the upcoming 2026 Short Session, and leaders from the Salem Fire Department will provide information about upcoming business fire inspections.
Attendees will also hear from the City of Salem Public Works Department about the upcoming State Street project and from Oregon Business & Industry about the Local Control & Safety Act, a ballot measure that would repeal HB 3115, which is legislation that created additional state restrictions on the enforcement of local no-public-camping ordinances. If this measure is successful, it would seek to align Oregon law with recent federal court decisions.

- Preston Mann, Director of External Affairs at Oregon Business & Industry (OBI)
