Artists In Action’s Art Gallery Announces May Shows and First Friday Reception
During the month of May, the Artists in Action Art Gallery will present a special feature of the work of Lorraine Dye and John Mohney. Lorriane Dye is an winning pastel artist and is a native Oregonian. Originally from Hood River, she has lived most of her life in Oregon. She began painting with pastels in 2005, and is self-taught, taking a few classes along the way. Her impressionistic realism style incorporates strong contrast and vivid colors along with a broad spectrum of subjects ranging from still-life to landscapes and animals. John Mohney lives in Stayton, Oregon and has been painting in watercolor for over twenty years. His past exhibitions include the Village gallery in Cedar Mill, Oregon Society of artists, the Celebration of Creativity in Beaverton, Keizer Art Association and the Salem Art Association. He is a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and has exhibited in their juried competitions. An Opening Night Reception coincides with Salem’s First Friday Art Walk event on May 3rd between 5:00-8:00 p.m. The show runs through May 31st. The Artists in Action Gallery shares a space with the Elsinore Framing and Fine Art Gallery at 444 Ferry St. SE.
