About Us
Salem Health Foundation serves as a catalyst for ideas, partnerships and programs that improve community health throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley. Established in 1968 by local citizens committed to advancing healthcare through charitable giving, the Foundation raises, manages and distributes funds in support of Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics.
Donor gifts remain local and support programs addressing cancer care, patient assistance, pediatrics, heart health, clinical excellence, caregiver resiliency and the greatest needs across the health system. Foundation funding helps patients facing financial hardship with medications, medical equipment, transportation and other barriers to healing. It also supports community health initiatives, professional development for healthcare workers and programs serving patients and families during difficult moments.
The Foundation invests in the future of local healthcare through scholarships for students pursuing medical and healthcare-related careers. Since the scholarship program began, more than $4 million has been awarded. Through individual donations, planned gifts, business partnerships and community fundraisers, Salem Health Foundation connects generosity with practical resources that improve care and strengthen the health of our region.
