Panasonic Eco Solutions Solar America, LLC (a subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation of North America) began operations in 2010 in Salem, Oregon. It is a manufacturer of premium quality silicon ingots, the basic component of photovoltaic solar panels. The plant employs nearly 150 people engaged in the growing and shaping of the ingots.
