I’m not your typical candidate for city council—and that’s why I’m running.
As someone who nearly lost my life to severe alcoholism, I know what it takes to rebuild from the ground up. My recovery has shaped my belief that Salem’s most pressing issues, addiction and homelessness, can be solved when people have the courage to speak truth and hold those suffering from addiction accountable.
That’s what I needed over six years ago when I got sober, and that’s what Salem needs now. Our city needs to recover.
I’m tired of Salem residents being told they lack compassion for wishing people weren’t dying on our streets. I’m tired of residents being called “unkind” for demanding higher standards for our city. I’m tired of hearing this issue is too complicated to solve. It’s not. We need leaders with the proper priorities, perspective, and relentless courage to speak the truth.
