For more than 100 years, Freres Engineered Wood has been a leader in Oregon’s forest products industry, combining tradition, innovation, and sustainable forestry practices to create high-quality engineered wood products. Founded in 1922 in the Santiam Canyon, what began as a small timber operation has grown into one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier manufacturers of veneer, plywood, lumber, and mass timber products.

Today, Freres Engineered Wood operates multiple facilities in Lyons and Mill City, Oregon, producing a wide range of products that serve residential, commercial, and industrial construction markets. The company is widely recognized for developing Mass Ply® Panels (MPP), an innovative mass timber product that has helped advance sustainable building solutions across North America.

As a third-generation family-owned business, Freres remains deeply committed to responsible forest management, environmental stewardship, and supporting family-wage jobs throughout the region. Their operations also include Freres Timber and Evergreen BioPower, allowing them to maximize resource utilization while generating renewable energy from wood residuals.
