Community Responsibility: Recognizing the Need and Taking Action
Featured Speaker: Mayor-Elect Julie Hoy
Join us for our Chamber Business Women luncheon in November, where we'll hear from Salem Mayor-Elect and business owner Julie Hoy about how we, as individual community members, can truly make a difference. Julie will share her story and about her calling to serve, which has led her to several community leadership roles, including perhaps the highest as the incoming Mayor of Salem.
About Our Speaker:
Julie Hoy is a dynamic and inspirational leader known for her many talents as a songwriter, musician, author, storyteller, humorist, and speaker. Along with her husband, Roger, she co-owns Geppetto’s Italian Restaurant in Salem, which has earned a reputation not only for its delicious Italian cuisine but also for its commitment to inclusivity, hiring individuals with special needs, and fostering a welcoming, family-like environment.
Julie’s dedication to community service runs deep. She has been a strong advocate for small business owners and those in need in her community. In 2022, she was elected to the Salem City Council for Ward 6, and her leadership and commitment to public service will continue as she steps into her new role as Mayor of Salem in January 2025.
A passionate advocate for community engagement and empowerment, Julie is eager to share the insights she has gained along her journey, inspiring others to make meaningful contributions to the world around them.
