“I started my career with hospital systems and traveled throughout country learning more about hospitals and health care,” said Scholer. “After that, I worked in senior living for Bonaventure Senior Living and was involved with opening all their new buildings. I opened about seven buildings with them over the last three years.”
Tell me more how you got involved with Mosaic Management?
Doug Sproul, President of Mosaic Management connected with Scholer through acquaintances in the senior living healthcare. Scholer was quickly hired on as the Director of Sales and Community Services.
“Doug has an expansive real estate background and has worked with over 300 buildings. He decided to do something he could feel good about as a Christian,” said Scholer.
Mosaic Management began in 20009. Doug is the partner or owner for almost every building. The buildings that Mosaic builds, six now, are the core businesses that Cindie Lou Scholer works with. We are adding two or three over by the end of the year.
Boone Ridge Senior Living Community is a luxurious senior living community being built on the west side of Keubler Boulevard. Boone Ride will encompass an age-in-place philosophy with Assisted Living and Memory Care, with 80-100 full-time jobs. The 116,000-square foot, 120-unit senior living community will offer luxury apartment suits, premium amenities, tranquil settings and picturesque views of Mt. Hood, Adams and St. Helens.
What is a senior living community?
Mosaic Management specializes in providing development, construction, marketing and management services in most areas of the Senor Housing Industry. With expertise in the Assisted Living, Independent Retirement and Memory Care spaces, we are a full-service company.
Mosaic Management offers care in four distinct categories:
- Retirement living, which is designed for senior adults who wish to maintain their independent lifestyles.
- Assisted living, which is designed for senior adults who wish to maintain their independent lifestyle, but may need some additional assistance to do so.
- Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care are designed to enrich the senses, engage the mind and enhance the emotions of residents. All memory care associates are trained as dementia specialists with program emphasis on innovative caregiving approaches.
- Short-term stay (respite) are for those who may only need to stay for a few days or weeks.
“Most of buildings are assisted living and memory care. If you have a spouse that has dementia, you can stay together while one of you receives treatment,” said Scholer.
The company’s goal is to take care of our patients and help them thrive, while feeling like they live and receive care at a resort. Many seniors have been abused and Mosaic Management gives them the chance to make friends and be protected.
A personal story…
Scholer herself is personally motivated to provide excellent care to seniors. In her own experience, she has seen a family ripped apart over the land and wealth of a grandparent who was a victim of senior abuse and left to starve.
“You don’t forget the stories or the people,” Scholer said. “It was hard for me initially working in this health care space because these patients become part of our Mosaic family, but then they die.”
In a health care environment like a hospital, they come and get better and leave. At Mosaic Management, it’s until end of life.
“I asked a nurse once, and she said that it’s about making the best for them. You must have a passion for it,” Scholer said. “You need to have empathy and patience.”
What inspires and drives you every day?
“It drives me to help seniors and families destress once they make the decision to move into one of our buildings,” said Scholer.
Instead of facing an uncertain future, Mosaic Management offers beautiful homes and care for the elderly and makes it possible for spouses to stay together.
Mosaic Management Mission and Values
At Mosaic Management, they care about people, employees and each client. They are intentional about building a culture where each person can reach their full potential and are committed to six core values that guide the pursuit of excellence. F.A.I.T.H.E. is the acronym.
- FUN: We take joy in what we do.
- ATTITUDE: We define ourselves by our positive, can-do mindset.
- INTEGRITY: We believe character determines outcome. It’s who we are, not what we do.
- TEAMWORK: We know we can do anything if we collaborate. Synergy is our way of life.
- HONESTY: We have seen that honest is freedom. We seek to live transparent lives. This is how we build trust.
- EFFORT: We believe we will get out of life what we put into it. We hold nothing back.
Excited for Boone Ridge Senior Living to Open
Boone Ridge Senior Living is scheduled to open in Fall of 2018 in Salem. The state-of-the-art community will have current design features and technology, specifically tailored to accommodate each resident. The community will create a sate and inspiring environment for its residents. An individual service plan will be the centerpiece for providing every resident with a program designed to assimilate their interests, abilities, routine and history into a new, and better, living space with Mosaic Management.
“I am excited for this area because I know it so well,” said Scholer. “Salem has a lot of potential. It’s also where our Mosaic Management home office is, so it will be a flagship building.”
